Al Gaucho in Magdeburg

Top quality of the food, the meat was perfectly presented. Kudos to the cook. We had ordered on Christmas Eve and it arrived on time and hot. Thank you for the fried potatoes that were delivered. Very good service! I will order here again anytime!

Grotto bad Last Thursday we visited our daughter in Magdeburg. A pleasant highlight so far has always been the "inaugural visit" at Al Gaucho. Now - with Corona - it looks different, of course, but only when it comes to the consumption of the food. Or so we thought. Ordered two loin steaks of 250 gr., Medium and without spices and also not flattened and another dish. We almost always take that (since summer 2018), and it actually always worked out well. Well, nothing lasts forever and the quality and service are no exception. So we ordered, waited, paid (including tip) on site, drove the three dishes home and sat down at the table in anticipation of the culinary delight. What a disappointment! We received meat that was seared gray, but otherwise raw, of which one steak couldn't even be cut properly. I then re-fried both steaks myself. With one it worked reasonably well, the other remained inedible, especially due to the nerves and tendons in the meat. You wonder where the raw material comes from! A short call to the restaurant with the result that no one comes by and brings new goods (".... have no driver ..."). So I got into the car and drove there again with the shoe sole in the bag. On site then perplexed faces. "Try cutting something off," I advised the owner. O.k., he saw that the goods were defective. It can happen that nobody bites into the customer's steaks to check the quality. So then please do the same again, a sirloin steak without spices, not flattened and please medium. When I went to the waiting area a few seconds later, I could already hear the clapping of meat in the kitchen. "If this is going to be my steak, please don't flatten it," I quickly added. "No, this is for another customer," came back from the kitchen. Immediately afterwards the boss came to me and informed me that all steaks would be beaten flat, "... by hand, not with a hammer ...". As if that made a difference. "As now, also rump steak and filesteak?" I asked in disbelief. "We got it differently here," I added quickly. "No, that doesn't exist, everything is flattened, there is no other way," he stated. Well, then the money was returned (of course not the tip). In the future we will probably look elsewhere, the shop doesn’t earn any more money from us. I can only advise meat lovers against visiting, good steaks are different.

Both of us women liked it very much, the ambience is great, the service was very friendly and competent, and we both enjoyed our menus fantastic! A visit to the Al Gaucho is highly recommended!

Cozy ambience. Unfortunately, food was mixed up, although a friend and I explicitly asked again (same number, but once without spicy). Quite annoying. The service tried hard and was nice.

Friendly staff, but food unfortunately below average. I find it worrying that no corona rules are being observed here. Except for a waiter, nobody wore a mask. No disinfectants, no distance, toilet dirty. There were also no slips of paper on which you had to sign up because of Corona. Legal requirements are therefore not observed.

Very nice atmosphere and tasty was always happy ?

Here we ordered very delicious food and got it delivered within the specified time (60min). For 12 € it was a huge portion that tasted very delicious. We will order more often here in the future.

Our favorite restaurant in Sudenburg! We have been eating here regularly for 15 years. Favorite main dish is number 33 and favorite starter is the exotic chicken soup with coriander!

Went there tonight and highly recommend it. Very nice service and delicious food. We will definitely come back.

Very good meat selection well prepared with a variety of select side dishes. Here is something for everyone. Super nice service, typical restaurant ambience, large terrace, separate room for parties. All in all highly recommended. Thanks!

Friendly service, good atmosphere and a very varied menu! The meat was very rich, in its point and the perfect ration. But you should not come in a hurry, it took a while to bring the food, even so 5 * in my opinion for everything else!

Table was easy to book online, with quick response. We had an appointment for lunch and the restaurant had a very pleasant number of guests, so it was not so loud and you could talk, the service was friendly and really fix and the food was really delicious without a long wait, the salad you could put together yourself, as there is a separate salad bar. Especially if you also want to eat exotic food (ostrich, kangaroo, etc.), I can only recommend it.
